A continuous bilateral pathway connects movement on one side of the body to usable support on the other. The result is a simple mechanical foundation that can be configured, measured and evaluated task by task.

Adjustable, quick-release tethering connects limbs, tools and loads through a single retractable cord, redirecting wearer-generated movement into usable support across a range of tasks without motors, batteries, air tanks or any form of added power.

What the pathway changes

Your muscles still control the work. AORTER redirects wearer-generated movement through connected working points so the arms spend less of the task holding static load and remain available to steer, manoeuvre, position and respond. The same fluid connection can support force transfer, vibration and tremor management without a fixed external anchor.

Musculoskeletal advantage

The lift begins in the hands.

Most exoskeletons are built around where the consequence is reported: the back. AORTER starts earlier, at the body’s first contact with the load. The hands initiate the lift, so the wearable begins there and connects both working sides before demand concentrates in the arms or reaches the paraspinal musculature.

Experienced clinicians, researchers, technical advisors and working professionals helped simplify this pathway around the outcomes that matter to the person wearing it: reduced holding demand, preserved control, adaptable fit and support that follows the task instead of interrupting it.

Rather than relying on a fixed unilateral anchor, AORTER creates a fluid bilateral interface. Its neutral 50/50 setting represents mechanical equilibrium between the connected sides. From that starting point, resistance and attachment geometry can be configured to study how demand moves away from concentrated bicep and forearm loading and toward tricep, abdominal and broader trunk participation.

The muscular pathway

The hand and wrist are treated as the entry point for force, vibration and load control. The connected interface can distribute wearer-generated demand across the forearm, bicep, tricep, shoulder, abdomen and trunk instead of forcing one injury-prone region to absorb the task alone. Lower-body routing can extend that mechanical relationship toward the hips, quadriceps, hamstrings and gluteals.

The precise change in muscle activation depends on the task, attachment position, resistance and direction of movement. AORTER’s funded biomechanics work is designed to quantify those changes through motion capture, electromyography, hand-path analysis and perceived exertion.

The neural pathway

AORTER keeps the wearer inside the feedback cycle. Because the pathway is bilateral, fluid and body-connected—not tied to a unilateral fixed anchor—movement on one side is immediately felt through the opposing side as assistance, resistance and return.

The 50/50 equilibrium point gives the body a consistent mechanical centre. Intention produces movement; movement produces support; that support returns through the same continuous pathway. This uninterrupted relationship between action, sensation and response is what allows AORTER to feel less like an external machine and more like an extension of the body.

Where time under tension is greatest, AORTER belongs.

When arms, shoulders or backs are being spent holding instead of controlling, the attachment can be configured around the load: through the limbs, directly to the equipment or across both. The objective stays the same: preserve strength for steering, manoeuvring and finishing the task.

What AORTER can do for your tooling workflow

The attachment determines where the supported load goes. Arm tethering reduces the load carried through the arms while the employee retains the tool in hand. Direct tool tethering supports the equipment itself, allowing a configured tool to remain suspended when the hands release it. Hybrid routing combines limb support with direct equipment control. Short- and long-handled configurations can be developed around foundry and casting work, glass handling, cement finishing, extrusion feed, mops, shovels and other tasks where reach multiplies time under tension.

Measure before ordering. These waist ranges guide standard sizing. Shoulder width, chest and torso fit also determine whether the physical frame and support structure will suit you. If your waist falls in both ranges, our team will help select the frame.

Prepare your measurements. Tell us your height, intended task and the clothing or protective equipment you will wear with AORTER. Measure your actual body circumference around the intended belt position over that clothing, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug. Do not use the size printed on your pants. Send the measurement in inches or centimetres.

Check your back length. The current standard frame is intended for an approximate 17–24-inch back-length range. Measure vertically from the base of the neck, where the upper frame will sit, to the intended waist-belt position. This is a preliminary compatibility check, not a substitute for confirmation by our team.

Check the upper-frame opening. The current opening between the shoulder structures is approximately 8 inches wide. Measure the widest body or protective-equipment profile that must pass through that opening while putting the unit on. This is a straight-line clearance measurement—not neck circumference—and a measurement equal to the full 8-inch opening is not automatically an acceptable fit. Our team must confirm safe clearance before an order proceeds.

Confirm the frame with us. Before you order, we can provide the relevant physical frame dimensions and guide your chest, shoulder-width and torso measurements. Our team will confirm neck and shoulder clearance, fit, attachment position and working range. CRANE height is configured relative to the shoulder and eye level.

Need a larger or specialized frame? Standard models are limited by their physical framing and support structure. Larger shoulders, waist measurements outside these ranges, or specialized fleet requirements may need tailored development through AORTER CUSTOM. Contact us with your requirements, particularly for fleet or industrial orders, so we can assess feasibility and quote the work.

CORE supports mobile work from below the waist to the upper chest. CRANE adds wearer-specific higher positioning, typically from two inches above the shoulder to below eye level. CUSTOM extends either architecture around a specialized workflow.

Working range + safe use
AORTER CORE range

Configured for mobile upper-body support from below the waist to the upper chest. It follows multi-directional movement without positioning a crane beside the head.

AORTER CRANE range

Crane height is configured relative to the wearer. Its typical fixed range extends from approximately two inches above the shoulder to below eye level.

Greater reach

The CRANE can be raised for task-specific applications only after configuration review. Greater reach becomes an AORTER CUSTOM package, where lumbar and trunk support are typically assessed and specified.

Lift-assistance meaning

Lift assistance describes the configured supporting force provided through the tether pathway. It is not the maximum load a person may safely lift and does not replace task assessment or proper lifting practice.

Intended use

Passive assistance for configured limb, tool and load-support tasks within the working range supplied for the selected model and wearer.

Not fall protection

AORTER is not a fall-arrest system, climbing harness, lifting hoist or substitute for required workplace PPE.

Inspect before use

Do not use damaged, worn, improperly fitted or unauthorized components. Check cords, tether points, locks, clips, belts and fasteners before every use.

Use within configuration

Do not exceed the supplied working range or alter the tether path without written configuration guidance. AORTER does not make an otherwise unsafe task safe.

Fit and colour

Select your preferred fit and standard colour combination. Our team will confirm component availability and fit before accepting an order.

Standard colours are subject to component availability while quantities last. Swatches are illustrative; screen and material colour may vary.

Standard sizes use actual waist circumference at the belt position: S/M, 20–34 inches; L/XL, 30–44 inches. Submit an enquiry before ordering and we will guide the remaining back, chest, shoulder and frame-clearance checks.

Need a different finish or material? Organization-specific colours, logos, carbon-fibre construction, translucent components, and alternate heat-, flame- or abrasion-resistant materials require the separate AORTER CUSTOM service and an approved written quote.

Standard equipment

Wearable unit with the standard wrist and forearm attachment, adjustable bilateral cord pathway, quick-adjust pulley-clutch block and integrated quick-release clips. Final supplied components and fit are confirmed with your configuration.

Attachments

Choose the attachments you need to connect your arms or tools. Attachment prices are additional to the unit and do not receive the launch discount.

Included with every AORTER unit: the standard wrist and forearm attachment comes stock.

Greyed-out attachments are not yet available; prices are to be confirmed.

Tool fit matters.

Tools vary in shape and size. Standard velcro strapping may not suit every power tool or handheld tool. A purpose-fit connection may require an AORTER CUSTOM package.

If you need something outside the selections above, please review AORTER CUSTOM. For a custom tool interface, a new workflow interface or another change to the underlying design, the CUSTOM package provides a full iteration cycle. If you are interested, leave a few general notes below and we will explore what we can accommodate.

A straightforward material swap may fit within a basic upgrade package. If you need a particular grade of leather, padding or another specified material, tell us what it is and where it will be used. Where the request is within our capabilities and preserves the foundation of the current model, we may be able to accommodate it as an upgrade.
